Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an editor?  No, some people are great at self-editing. However, I do recommend hiring one. I am a fresh, objective set of eyes, here to not only help with grammar but also with transitions, flow, clarity, phrasing, etc.

How do I choose an editor?  Choose an editor you will enjoy working with! I work collaboratively with my clients, as this should be an enjoyable process for all involved. You also want an editor who has experience in your genre.

What genre do you work in?  I mainly work in fiction.

Can I contact you before my manuscript is complete?  Yes, absolutely.

Can you guarantee an error-free manuscript?  No. We are all human and, therefore, make mistakes. To help combat this, I offer an editing package that includes two rounds of edits. Between the rounds, you can accept and/or reject changes and make minor changes of your own.

Can I change the type of editing I want done?  Yes, up until I have begun editing your manuscript on the date stated in the contract. Be aware, there is a strong possibility this will change the timeline we originally agreed upon.

Do you keep my manuscript confidential?  Yes, definitely. Confidentiality is of upmost importance.
